Just a few things to close out on the year 3013:
- Huntingtons Disease test came back negative! Relieved that it is not something my kids will have to worry about.
- Maks had a seizure on Dec 20th, EEG's came back normal so they believe it was just an isolated seizure. But he has began a daily seizure medication and the hospital equipped his school with emergency seizure medications just in case. In 6 months he will have a follow up with neurology, and if he has not had another seizure in 12 months he can stop his medications and do another EEG to clear him!
- Some new blood work for Mike came back that showed signs of an autoimmune disease, with indicators of lupus. So they drew more blood and are looking further into lupus and other autoimmune diseases.
- Christmas went fantastic! Much better than last year. Last year the whole day overwhelmed Mike so much, he just barked orders at people and rushed Maks to just tear open every present - wouldnt let him play with anything just go go go go all day. This year I talked with him the day before and encouraged him to relax, it does not matter how long it takes to open presents - we have nowhere else to be that day but to sit and watch them open presents. The final present was opened at 8PM that night!
- Still having some trouble with getting some paperwork filed properly and in order. Getting our refunds for our flights to see specialists and signing up for wounded warrior social security support is proving to be a huge headache.
- Family support has been amazing. My parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents have been the greatest. Even from several states away they are always right there for us.
- My customers have been seriously the best! Those who have purchased from us have helped support us financially, and others have really invested in us even more... raising funds for us just because they want to support us, even submitting our names in events and winning us $1750.00 (thank you Kim!). I am terrible at accepting gifts and support, I do not feel worthy of it. But please know how much it is appreciated!
Thank you for making 2013 such a great year! Despite its trials, it was definitely a much better year than the two years before it! Pray with me that 2014 will be 10x better!!
